The founding of TAS Foundation
Our founding date: 11. December 1998
PURPOSE:
The intention with this foundation is to help other functionally disabled and cancer patients all over the world. After experiencing cancer and amputation ourselves, our aim is to help others that come in the same situation. We know which problem’s cancer and amputation of a limb can cause for individuals and couples. We have experienced despair and joys together in this difficult time. The afflictions have been many and we mean there are needs for more support for others that experience the same as we have. With this foundation we want to give financial aid to cancer patients and functionally disabled people all over the world. Maybe we can be an inspiration to others who experiences the same as us. If we can be of any help to relatives, friends, girlfriends, boyfriends and outsiders, to realise that life goes on even if you are given the diagnosis cancer and have to amputate a limb, then we will have reached one of our goals.
AIMS;
To spread information about cancer and functionally disabled through Internet.
Make and operate updated information pages on Internet in five languages.
The pages on Internet shall contain pictures of functionally disabled in different activities.
Put together a board of directors with 7 people before 1. January 2000, who shall run the foundation.
Establish a bank account for received donations.
Collect donations to the foundation in order to build a fund.
Administer the funds that is donated in such a way that the money yield a good return, which then can be given in forms of donations/gifts to individuals who have or have experienced cancer or amputations.
Make an application form, as an A4 page, to apply for financial aid.
Minimum support that is given are 500, - NKr.
Show that a functionally disabled person is “as good as” a not disabled.
Give inspiration to others in the same situation.
Show that you can live with a handicap.
Show that love can conquer the loss of a limb. It's possible to love a functionally disabled.
Give financial aid to persons who has or have had cancer.
Give financial aid to persons who are functionally disabled.
THE SITUATION AT THE DAY OF FOUNDATION
At the day of the foundation there are no funds in the foundation. The foundation is run by Tor-André Skogland (TAS) until a board of directors who the founders think will be a powerful board, is found. TAS makes and updates the Internet pages, which is located at his own homepages until further notice. This is done on own initiative and for own money until donations arrive. The meaning is to rent place for the pages when the financial situation for the foundation allows this. Tor-André Skogland will do the books.
HOW TO OPERATE THE FOUNDATION IN THE FUTURE
This organisation is to be run like an organisation and shall follow the Norwegian foundation law. When the foundation passes 50.000, - NKr in funds, it is to be registered. There shall be a board of directors of 7 people who shall run the foundation. It’s the board of directors who shall go through incoming applications for financial aid and give such support to those the board finds are in need of support. The board is to be run after the foundation regulations. The founders of the foundation cannot be excluded from the board of directors. If one or both founders are going out of the board, they can whenever they want to come back into the board of directors again. The person who take one of the founders place in the board are obliged to step back if one of the founders wants to get back into the board of directors again. It’s only the founders who can be chairman of this foundation. If one or both founders step out of the board for a while, then it’s up to the chairman (a founder) to choose who is going to be chairman while the founders are out of the board.
This deed of foundation is written in two languages, Norwegian and English. If it for some reason is differences in the two documents because of the translation from Norwegian to English, then it’s the Norwegian Deed of foundation that is to come into force.
