What are we?
TAS Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by a Norwegian male amputee, to help cancer patients and amputees to gain a better life.
In the beginning it's most important to get enough total assets so that the foundation can start to give out money to applicants that are in need of financial aid.
When the total assets are over 50.000,- NOK (5.800 $), the interests will make the founds grow and we start to process all applications for financial aid from amputees and cancer patients who apply. Read our Deed of Foundation for more information.
We know that there are different needs when you are sick and the board will try to help as many as possible when we are ready to process applications. No applications for help will be processed by the board before we put up an application form on our web pages. So we ask those who send us requests regarding friends who need financial aid to stop mailing us now. We use valuable time to read trough all your mails. Be patient and look for "Application form" on the menu.
The money will among other things be used to organize gatherings. That way we hope to gather different people and exchange experiences and hopes for the future. It's important for us that all the cancer patients and amputees in the world understand that they are not alone. There are millions all over the world that experiences both cancer and amputations.
With financial aid and organized by The Norwegian Cancer Organization, I was able to travel to Majorca with over 60 other people who had experienced cancer.
Some of them had experienced cancer themselves. Others had a husband or wife with cancer. It was very good for me to see and talk with all these people. Everyone knew what you were talking about because they had experienced some of the same challenges that come with cancer.
That vacation with the sun and warm climate was like medicine for me and my girlfriend at that time (she's now my wife). It was like an award for winning the battle against cancer.
We recommend all relatives to help to finance a vacation for the person who's got or recovered after cancer or/and amputation. If you can't afford to help them you might apply for help with local charity organizations or foundations like TAS foundation on Internet.
Furthermore the money you give to TAS foundation will be used to help persons who have been put into a difficult financial situation, because of the illness. Let us help them!
Remember that you can get cancer tomorrow. You may also need our assistance once in the future if you will have to amputate a limb for any reason. Helping TAS Foundation by sending a donation today might help you in the future!
